How you would improve our o-line.

How you would improve our o-line.

First step already taken, got rid of our crappy o-line coach.

Next I'd move Colon to right guard. He's become a decent tackle, but I think his skill set could make him an elite right guard.

Keep Kemo and Starks where they're at. Starks is average posibly slghtly above or below depending on the week at his position. Kemoeatu is an ascending player who should be looking at season ending honors such as all pro and the Pro Bowl next year. He's really become a force as a run blocker, and his pass blocking is almost where you need it.

Center I can go Stapleton for a year, but I'm looking to take a center that can start within a year.

Now all we need is a right tackle. Any free agents worth getting? :aha:

I would simply look for a new center or right guard. Colon is fine at tackle he had a very good year for the most part. The biggest problem this group seems to have is communication between each other and the quarterback.

What about Foster? Sure he is listed as a tackle, but he got time at guard. Maybe he can move inside on a permanent basis. Essex sure looked better at guard than he ever did as a tackle.

Essex looks even better with a foot up his ass, out the door and on his way to waivers.

Move Foster to RT, where he rightfully belongs. Move Colon to RG, and find a real center to anchor these guys.

The same goes for Stapleton. He was getting his useless fat ass driven back more often than not and, Zu you must be on crack of you think he'd be a decent stop gap to bring along a rookie. That's ludicrous. You don't use an untalented, underachieving perennial back up to mentor your future starter.

step 1 accomplished .... ditching the bum coach

step 2 define the type of line you want , anything prior to that is counter productive

step 3 ..define your personnel and try and capitalize on their strengths in the blocking system your going to employ

step 4 ditch any personnel that does not fit your scheme

step 5 acquire through the draft and FA the types of players needed to run your scheme

step 6 do lots of praying it all works out

:OK:
No place else in the world will you be able to see these 6 trophies than right here , its pretty special

 That was great. I was by no means saying that Essex was the answer to any question on the oline, just that he was better at guard than at tackle. But better than terrible is still pretty darn bad.

I'd love to get Mankins in free agency, but I doubt that's gonna happen, so in the mean time:

IMO Urbik is gonna make a fine LG with a year in the weight room. I'd stick him there, move Kemo to the RG spot. Draft a guard to compete with both of them in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round.

Draft a center in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round to hopefully compete and defeat Hartwig.

Re-sign Colon. If we don't re-sign Colon, draft a tackle in the 1st round (I don't like that option as much, because I'd love to upgrade the secondary, or get McClain with that first pick)
